Bouddha

Ok, I am going to try and take my time with this post and share some more photos with you.......We've been living in Kathmandu just over two years now, yet so far not made it to this essential tourist destination, one of the most important Buddhist sites in the world. We finally made it this weekend and we all absolutely loved it.Here's the journey - very normal - kids asleep in the back because they got up while it was still dark(!) and a traffic jam caused by about 9 men digging half-heartedly at a pile of mud entirely covering one lane of the road.... (Well, I say lane - I basically mean half the road - there are no lanes here, but the ones you create for yourself....)
Here's the smaller stupa at Chabahil that we drove past on the way:
Walking to the big stupa in Bouddha.....
Little shops on the way - we might have bought some jewellery boxes.
Almost there......
Around the stupa. Some Tibetan ladies, just finishing their clockwise walk.
And some Greeners just starting theirs.....
Ok, so we enjoyed the shops around the stupa too......
A really wonderful day.I'm going to leave it there as it's already taken me two evenings to upload photos. Maybe in my next post I'll tell you why the internet is so slow here at the moment.....Oh, the excitement!!

Almost forgot. Here is a moment of peace to end with...
